Active since 2016, EcoWomen NYC is a local chapter of women-identified environmental professionals dedicated to community-building within our field. We are currently recruiting for new volunteer board members to take office in the spring.
While we have put a pause on our in-person meet-ups and field trips due to COVID-19, we have been able to sustain a vibrant online community and look forward to continuing our efforts in the coming year. Through virtual speaker events, readings groups, and mentoring activities, we strive to help women of all backgrounds advance in environmental careers, while building new relationships and growing as stewards of our workplaces and our communities.
We are currently recruiting for President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer positions, as well as women to help lead our five subcommittees: Professional Development & Mentorship, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Communications & Outreach, Financial Development, and Eco Hour/Event Planning. Candidates with backgrounds in strategic communications, DEI work, and fundraising are especially encouraged to apply.
EcoWomen NYC is committed to building a more equitable and progressive environmental community. We recognize there is a lot of work to do in this realm, and prospective board members should share our passion for promoting equity and mobilizing the environmental community against all forms of oppression.
