Day Centre Volunteer

We are searching for passionate and caring volunteers to join our Adult Day Centre at The William and Patricia Venton Centre, Astor Drive, Mount Gould, Plymouth.

Volunteering can make a difference to you, a huge difference to our clients and Age UK Plymouth.

 The Role

We run a range of activities within our Day Centre such as quizzes, learning new skills, dancing, singing, crafting, games, indoor sports, sensory activities, and much more. We are passionate about helping our clients have an amazing experience with us and we would love for you to help. In the role you will be interacting with our clients, help and support the group lead, assist in setting up the room, making much needed refreshments and encouraging them to interact within the sessions. However, there is so much more to this role benefiting both the clients and the entire team.

Are you passionate about supporting your local community? Can you add a bit of sparkle to someone’s day? If the answer is yes then we would love to hear from you. To be successful in this role you need you to have a caring nature, good organisational skills, be a good listener, empathetic, enjoy being part of a team and be reliable.

 When

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 10.00 – 15.00 (morning, afternoon or full day sessions)

Day Centre Manager

Additional Information

When completing the application form please provide information about any skills, experience, hobbies, training that you have.

We provide full training which includes; safeguarding, dementia awareness training and digital training.

Please note that a DBS Certificate and suitable references are a requirement of this role but we will guide you through these processes.
