DC Rollergirls, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the sport of roller derby in the Washington, D.C. area, is seeking a volunteer website manager.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in WordPress and BlueHost. The Website Manager will oversee the functionality of the website, evaluate and manage website performance, facilitate hosting and server management and develop, maintain and update website content. Current website needs will change based upon events, promotions, news and other items. The volunteer will also conduct an audit of the current site and propose upgrades, changes and suggestions of how to improve the user experience. This is a virtual position.

DCRG is seeking a volunteer to commit for at least six months and this volunteer will report directly to the DCRG President and/or Media Committee Chair. Knowledge of roller derby is not required.

Founded in 2006, DC Rollergirls is a 501(c)(3) volunteer-run, non-profit organization, and are proud members of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) — the international governing body for women’s amateur flat track roller derby. WFTDA is composed of skater-owned and -operated leagues worldwide that have united to lead the growing sport of roller derby.

The non-profit league is run by skaters, officials and dedicated volunteers, who contribute their free time and talents to manage all aspects of the league — everything from managing operational funds to designing promotional materials. DC Rollergirls also maintain a strong sense of community pride by partnering with local charities and participating in local events. The league’s vision is to promote athleticism, diversity and roller derby, and foster self-worth, personal strength and empowerment within league skaters.

Right now, all DCRG events are suspended, but the league is continuing development through virtual league events, social media campaigns and more.

If you are interested in this position, please contact Beth, DCRG Vice President, and submit a brief description of why you are interested in this position and your resume of related experience.
