Time commitment: 1-2 hours weekly or biweekly, evenings or weekends.

Just as a traditional library lends books, the Tool Library lends tools—power tools, bike tools, gardening tools, and much more. A project of the Millvale Community Library, the Tool Library is free to Pittsburgh and all Allegheny County library card holders. Our goal is to promote self-sufficiency, reduce waste, and empower individuals and community groups.

The Tool Library launched in the summer of 2018—and we couldn’t have launched at all without volunteers. As we grow, we’re seeking volunteers to fill any number of roles.

The Tool Library is a great community resource during Covid times. At the same time, the library is committed to ensuring a safe and healthy experience for volunteers of all ages.
