The project is organized with one of the secondary schools in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. The country has a 12-year school system. Until 1990, students used to study Russian only as a second language, but since 1990 they have the chance to study other languages as well. However, the quality of English language teaching still needs improvement.
The volunteers' main task will be to teach English to the students. This could also be done through informal activities such as singing songs, playing games, etc. The group will also help with some renovation works in the school. We may also do some workshops with the children on environmental awareness and forest protection.
Study theme: English teaching methods from the volunteers' countries and the future of the volunteer movement in Mongolia.
Special requirements: Participants are expected to like working with kids and be flexible and adaptable.
