Secretary, Board Of Directors (Non-Paid, Volunteer)

The Kimberly Coffey Foundation (KCF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, works to educate the public and healthcare professionals about bacterial meningitis (meningococcal disease). KCF was founded in memory of Kimberly Coffey, who passed away from Meningitis B in 2012 at the age of 17. To continue to support and grow our advocacy and educational activities at the Foundation, we are currently seeking a Board Secretary.

KCF seeks applicants from diverse backgrounds, and with varied skill sets, perspectives and voices to help execute on its strategic vision and contribute their expertise to grow our capacity and impact.

The ideal individual will have administrative experience and a passion for health advocacy.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Attend monthly and as needed board meetings and lead administrative meetings tasks.
• Take notes and call minutes at all board meetings and submit minutes for amendment or approval by the board.
• Schedule monthly and as needed board meetings and organize agenda.
• Maintain records and non-legal documents, including bylaws, articles of incorporation and minutes.
• Drafting correspondence and maintaining communications with various stakeholders.
• Active involvement in fundraising, public relations, and development initiatives as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Qualifications

• A commitment to, and a clear understanding of the mission of the Foundation.
• Successful experience working with a non-profit foundation and/or advocacy organization.
• Administrative experience and a preference for those with experience on a Board.
