NOMV Cyberbullying Task Force

This task force will ensure veterinary professionals that experience cyberbullying attacks are equipped with resources to support them through the crisis effectively and provide a mechanism for the larger NOMV community to support their colleagues in a constructive way.

We are looking for individuals to support the project. These volunteers will serve specific roles in fulfilling the goals of the task force and supporting veterinary professionals. Additional roles may be created once the initial task force convenes.

Below is a list of all the individual roles we are currently looking for:

  • Task force Leader with experience navigating cyberbullying in the veterinary field and a strong commitment to the cause
  • Human Medicine Liaison with experience in record confidentiality, cyberbullying, and ethics
  • Mental Health Liaison with experience in navigating crises, cyberbullying, and threats to basic human needs
  • Media Specialist for press release strategy, content, and coordination
  • Social Media Specialist for education strategies internally to the veterinary community and externally to those experiencing cyberbullying attacks
  • Peer Supporters are individuals with lived experiences to provide peer review, insight, and/or contribute resources
  • Fundraiser to garner ongoing funds for scholarship and staffing needs to maintain an effective program despite changes in the social media landscape
  • Reputation Specialist to establish resources for challenges related to Yelp, Google Reviews, and other reputation sites off social media
  • Press Strategist to train and assist navigating the media during a cyberbullying episode
  • Community Organizers to craft and disseminate a uniform message to the veterinary community to adequately support veterinary practices experiencing cyberbullying
  • PR Firm Liaison willing to specialize or with specialist experience assisting veterinary practices experiencing cyberbullying across the nation and assist in securing an international firm if cyberbullying happens in a country they do not have the ability to provide assistance to
