    Description

    MUST BE A RESIDENT OF CHICAGO OR THE CHICAGO AREA TO APPLY.

    HI Chicago is looking for volunteers to lead and support welcome parties for guests at our bustling Chicago hostel; which hosts travelers from across the globe. The HI USA Welcome Party allows guests to meet and interact with each other, at the hostel. These Welcome Parties also serve as an opportunity for guests to learn some information about Chicago history and the culture of our local communities/neighborhoods.

    SCHEDULE

    We are looking for volunteers to lead World Cup viewing parties at the hostel (minimum of 3 events). We would work with your schedule and plan at minimum three game watch events. The volunteer would set up the screening area in the hostel, make and serve popcorn, and facilitate activities or conversations to foster cultural exchange among guests.

    REQUIREMENTS

    You must be 18+ to be a volunteer at our welcome parties.

    Most tasks involved in welcome parties require standing for long periods of time and lifting up to 20lbs.

    HI USA is 501(c)(3) non-profit education association. Our purpose is to "inspire a deeper understanding of people places and cultures for a more tolerant world." As a non-profit, the revenues we receive through overnight stays and memberships is reinvested in mission delivery.
