Do you want to make a difference in the life of a young innovator hoping to start a new social business? Do you want to help communities address tough challenges like lack of healthcare, poor education, or lack of modern energy by giving local youth the skills they need to scale up their idea? This is the opportunity for you!

The Sustainable Development Solutions Network is a US-based 501c3 organization that supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), adopted by all countries in 2015. The SDGs are ambitious goals for the world, such as ending poverty and hunger, achieving universal access to education and healthcare, protecting ecosystems and fighting climate change, and promoting peace and social inclusion.

SDSN Youth, the youth arm of the SDSN, publishes the Youth Solutions Report (YSR), which showcases transformative, youth-led initiatives to achieve the SDGs. It features businesses like Liter of Light, which brings safe, solar light to areas without electricity, or Bean Voyage, which works to ensure farmers get a fair share of profits from high-end, sustainably produced coffee.

The young solution-makers featured in the report have a passion for solving the world's most pressing problems, but given their young age, many need to deepen their experience, build their entrepreneurial skills, and expand their professional network to launch or grow their social business. The Youth Readiness Program is a 16-week accelerator that will help participants build and refine their investor deck, while creating a network of support. Each week, participants will listen to a 1-hour webinar from an expert, draft a new component of their investment deck, and receive feedback from a mentor (you!) on their materials.

The SDSN is currently seeking Mentors to support this project. Mentors will meet with young entrepreneurs via Skype (or other software) every 2 to 3 weeks to offer general advice, as well as provide weekly, concrete, written feedback on their materials via the online platform (about 8-10 hours total contribution). This cohort will run roughly from January 11 to May 1, 2021.
