Seeking Candidates for the InterExchange Board of Directors

Volunteer Position

InterExchange, a leading international cultural exchange not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization with a 50+ year history running exceptional cross-cultural programs, seeks individuals on a voluntary basis who are interested in supporting our commitment to innovation, excellence, diversification and growth on the InterExchange Board of Directors. 

Ideal candidates will be successful executive-level professionals, located within the Greater NYC Area, with current experience in any of the following areas:

• Finance
• Government affairs
• Non-profit management
• Corporate giving or funding development
• Media
• Legal services

Previous Board experience is preferred but not necessary.

Board Directors serve 3-year terms, attend four meetings per year (currently a mix of virtual and in-person in NYC), serve on/or Chair one or more committees (with meetings as necessary), fulfill NYS-mandated fiduciary oversight requirements (such as approving the budget and CEO annual performance and salary review), recruit additional Board Directors, and provide critical insight and expert advice to the CEO and senior management. 

The InterExchange Board came together with senior leadership in July 2021 to discuss the future direction of the organization and begin to set our sights on what we want to achieve now and in years to come.  Resilience, leadership, advocacy, commitment to DEI, and measuring impact are all baked into our day-to-day but we seek to be and do more in promoting increased people-to-people diplomacy and mutual understanding. We will do this not only through our legacy programs, but also through philanthropic endeavors and new business ideas. We are seeking Board Directors who share our vision and will energetically add their ideas and talents to achieving our goals.
