About EFI: EFI develops people’s capacity to address social, economic, and environmental challenges in order to create healthy and sustainable societies.
EFI researches global, regional, and local sustainability issues and the strategies being used to address them. Based on that research, our team creates and provides educational programs, resources, and learning tools for students, concerned citizens and the policy sector. Our goal is to increase their understanding of the social, economic, and environmental challenges and strengthen their capacity to create solutions.
Volunteering at EFI
EFI strives to develop the professional and intellectual skills of our interns and volunteers and contribute to their future careers and endeavors in sustainability studies and climate change policy. Former EFI interns and volunteers have secured positions and/or pursued sustainability careers in government agencies, nonprofit organizations, community organizing, and academia.
We also welcome seasoned professionals with extensive academic or professional experience interested in contributing as pro bono senior education/research advisers.
Volunteer Opportunity Description
Web Development Volunteer.
We are looking for volunteers to help us manage and scale the development our web capabilities, including backend cloud development and frontend design tasks.
-Skills: knowledge of cloud platforms development (in particular Azure and AWS) using Python; Advanced WordPress, HTML, and CSS skills; basic Ghost blogging platform.
Tasks:
-Support the deployment and maintenance of platforms in Azure and AWS clouds.
-Support maintenance of EFI’s websites on WordPress.
-Support development design of web content materials and communications materials.
