    Are you passionate about helping transgender, nonbinary, and gender-diverse (trans+) people thrive and live free of hate and discrimination?

    Join TRACTION's Project Open Arms as a Resource Navigator and make a real difference in the lives of people seeking a fresh start in sanctuary states.

    Open Arms is a searchable public directory of trans+-friendly resources and a secure, dedicated networking portal for organizations, agencies, providers, and other resources who serve trans+ people of all ages with respect and humility. We are based in Washington State, but network nationwide.

    What you'll do as a resource navigator:

    • Support trans+ people who are under attack in hostile U.S. states in their goal to relocate to trans-affirming sanctuary U.S. states.
    • Connect or refer relocating folks to vital resources such as:Gender-affirming healthcare
    • Affordable housing options
    • Job opportunities
    • ID and legal aid
    • Grants and loans
    • Community and peer support networks
    • Mutual aid and local support services
    • Research, identify, and vet additional resources based on contact’s needs
    • Provide compassionate guidance throughout the relocation process

    We're looking for volunteers who:

    • Share TRACTION’s core values
    • Understand trans+ people’s experiences and needs
    • Have strong research and communication skills
    • Can dedicate 5-10 virtual hours per week
    • Are empathetic, patient, and committed to our community's well-being

    No prior experience is necessary - just bring your enthusiasm and dedication to supporting people through service. Join our team of volunteers and help build a stronger community.
