Do you love gardening??Do you have an inner teacher trying to emerge that may be fun or educational that you would like to offer for seniors?

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Senior Friendship Centers is seeking friendly volunteers for our Sarasota location to initiate a gardening club.We would love to speak with you about the possibilities of offering new and engaging new opportunities for our members. We are expanding our course offering and welcome variety in these aereas.

SCHEDULE: One hour classes with time and day of the week to be determined

LOCATION: 1888 Brother Geenen Way, Sarasota, FL 34236

REPORTS TO:Center Manager

DUTIES:

·· Have enough materials ready for the size group you expect

·Greet all members

·Explain why you enjoy this activity and wanted to offer it to others

·Set up your rules for the task at hand

·Deliver the instructions in a clear and meaningful way

·Check for understanding

·Complete the project(s)

·Thank the group for attending

·Leave the classroom in a clean and orderly manner

REQUIREMENTS:

• Excellent interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with seniors.
• Ability to interact professionally with all staff, clients, volunteers, and community partners.
• Friendly, flexible, able to handle challenges, and able to work with limited supervision.
• Must possess cultural awareness and sensitivity for all individuals and groups.
