    Description

    Position: (Volunteer)

    Time Commitment: Flexible, approximately 10 hours per week

    Location: FL

    Reports to Programming Director

    EmpowHERto partners with black and Latina girls and young women from underserved communities between 14-21, empowering them with the necessary tools to thrive and effect positive systemic change.

    We are seeking a caring, organized, and community-centered Program Intake Specialist to support the onboarding of girls into EmpowHERto’s programs. This person will be one of the first connections the girls and their families have with our organization making it essential that they’re welcoming, clear, and supportive in every interaction. The Program Intake Specialist will manage the intake process from application to program placement, helping young participants navigate enrollment and ensuring a positive, empowering introduction to our programs.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Conduct virtual or phone-based intake sessions with new program applicants and their families.
    • Review and process participant applications and intake forms for programs such as CodeHER, Data 4 HER, and others.
    • Collect and maintain accurate participant data in our system. Provide clear, supportive communication to participants about program options, expectations, and schedules.
    • Collaborate with Lead Assistants and Academic Advisors to place participants in appropriate workshops and services.
    • Track intake progress, attendance records, and follow-up needs for participants. Ensure every girl feels welcomed, heard, and valued through their EmpowHERto experience.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Passionate about youth empowerment, community care, and uplifting young women of color.
    • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks at once.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills approachable, patient, and supportive.
    • Comfortable working with digital tools like Google Forms, spreadsheets, and virtual meeting platforms.
    • Previous experience working with youth programs,volunteer management, intake processes, or nonprofit administration is a plus.
