Help Others - Do you have a heart for helping victims go from crisis to recovery? This opportunity might be perfect for you! You will be directly involved in helping victims get to safety. Hear stories when shared, experience emotions, witness transformations, and practice advocacy. Our volunteers support victims in a direct, meaningful way!

Have an Adventure - Travel across North Texas, the state, or the U.S. -- Engage in conversations and have adventures you'll remember for a lifetime.

Change Lives - Want to be directly involved in a life saving, life changing service? They assist in offering victims a fresh start in a safe place.

    WE NEED VOLUNTEERS WHO:

    + Ages 21+

+ Have a good driving record

+ Can pass a criminal background check

+ Have time to drive survivors of domestic violence from a safe pickup place in North Texas to an emergency shelter or to a family home far away.

    HOW FAR DO VOLUNTEERS DRIVE?

+ DFW Road Warrior - Drive a new survivor to a domestic violence shelter, all within the DFW Metroplex. Weekdays only- daytime is most common.

+ North Texas Road Warrior - Drive a new survivor to a domestic violence shelter 1 to 2 hours from the DFW area. Weekdays- daytime is most common.

+ Multi-State Road Warrior - Drive a new survivor to another state; this may take several hours or a few days, depending on the destination. Weekends, weekdays, holidays- whenever you're able!

+ You always choose to accept or decline a drive - No pressure! Set a personal goal to help weekly or monthly at your pace.

+ We arrange survivor pick-ups in a safe, public place - usually in or near Dallas.

+ Many of our survivors travel with children - We prepare car seats so you don't have to.

+ There are no out-of-pocket expenses for our volunteers - Families to Freedom provides for the vehicle (or use your own), fuel, food and other travel costs.
