Board of Advisors for Global Health & Empowerment Non-Profit

Colorful Minds (CM) is a global non-profit, registered 501(c)3 charity, a project of Social and Environmental Entrepreneurs (SEE). The mission of Colorful Minds is to uplift and empower individuals living with disabling conditions through art, partnerships, and community.

CM provides a unique platform to share and sell their work to create hope and healing, with the goal of providing sustainable work for these individuals. This allows the artists with disabilities to seek financial independence while bolstering their self-esteem. We are unique in that we seek to connect vocational training centers, artists, and other community-based groups around the world with customers who are interested in purchasing their beautiful artwork. In addition, CM invests in communities in developing countries and provides high-impact grants to support artists living with disabilities, as well as funds children’s complex medical needs.

To prevent disease and disability in developing countries, we partner with effective global health organizations to deliver cost-effective life-saving treatment to children in the poorest and most marginalized areas of the world. 

Strategic Advisor Responsibilities 

• Board Members are invited serve a one (1) year term and may be eligible for reappointment and be required to attend one strategic planning session at the end of January, along with 4 quarterly meetings in 2021. 
• Responsible for supporting strategic plan, reviewing partnership proposals with NGOs and social enterprises in India & Africa, and developing metrics and program plan for evaluating impact. 
• Reviewing agenda and supporting materials prior to board and committee meetings.  
• Reviewing and approving Colorful Minds (CM) annual budget and material business decisions; being informed of, and meeting all, legal and fiduciary responsibilities.  
• Assisting the Executive Director and Board in identifying and recruiting other Board Members.  
• Must participate in at least one fundraising activity in 2021 and promote the cause on social media once a communication strategy is determined. 

Qualifications: 

• This person should have excellent writing, research and design skills, and be an effective storyteller 
• 7+ years of experience in the social sector,a Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Public Policy, or Business Administration a plus, preferably has past experience working in the global health sector or with persons/organizations focused on disabilities. 
• Must be excited to join a team devising, testing and iterating various approaches to achieve ambitious social impact focused goals. 
• Be open minded, have a growth mindset, open to testing new approaches and failure, and be open to considering diverse viewpoints. 
• Must have achieved senior leadership stature in business, government, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector.
