Board of Directors Member

Resound Ensemble is a community of singers sharing intimate, engaging performances with audiences in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are committed to an eclectic repertoire that connects today's audience to the human experience through song.

Resound is managed by a Board of Directors, drawn from the choir and the community. Because Resound is a small non-profit with only the Music Director on staff, we are a volunteer, working board. This means that in addition to general board duties, board members are expected to run (or oversee) operational tasks, such as promotion, communications, development and production. 

GENERAL BOARD DUTIES

Governance

• Manage any personnel searches and any personnel issues that arise
• Ensure the financial viability of the ensemble
• Review and manage contractual relationships

Fundraising

• Contribute financially as able
• Solicit funding from personal network, minimally by sending annual fundraising letter

Envisioning

• Envision ensemble’s growth and budget accordingly
• Periodic review of mission and brand

Operations

• Run or contribute (in the form of ideas and/or implementation) to working operations of the ensemble
• Manage committee members as needed

VOLUNTEER BOARD MEMBER QUALIFICATIONS:

• Availability to virtually attend once a month board meeting, attend board retreats 1-2 times a year, and complete any follow up action items as assigned
• 3-5 years of board experience in an arts non-profit preferred
