    Description

    EmpowHERto partners with black and Latina girls and young women from underserved communities between 14-21, empowering them with the necessary tools to thrive and effect positive systemic change.

    The CodeHER Lead Assistant will play a pivotal role in the success of the CodeHER program by assisting in the design, organization, and implementation of program activities. Working closely with the Stem Curriculum Lead, the Assistant will ensure that program goals are met, lessons are engaging, and participants have a meaningful experience.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Assist in designing and developing engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for the CodeHER program.
    • Collaborate with the Stem Curriculum Lead to tailor curriculum content that aligns with the program’s objectives.
    • Facilitate program sessions, ensuring an inclusive, engaging, and productive environment for all participants.
    • Work with the marketing and outreach teams to increase program visibility and recruit participants.
    • Represent CodeHER at community events, school visits, and outreach initiatives to engage potential participants and partners.
    • Monitor program budgets and expenses, ensuring efficient use of resources.
    • Maintain organized records of participant attendance, feedback, and program outcomes.
    • Assist in preparing reports and evaluations to measure program impact.
    • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless program execution.
    • Serve as a point of contact for program participants, parents, and stakeholders.
    • Provide regular updates to the Curriculum Lead on program progress and challenge

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Experience in program coordination, curriculum development, or teaching, preferably in STEM or technology-focused programs.
    • Experience with coding languages and technology concepts is required (Python, Lynx)
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for engaging youth.
    • Creativity and adaptability in designing lessons and solving challenges.
    • Proficiency in using technology tools for program delivery and communication
    • Demonstrated commitment to community engagement through sustained volunteer work or civic involvement that reflects empathy, initiative, and impact
