The Laughing Pony Rescue helps to rescue, rehome, rehabilitate, and provide sanctuary for equines and farm animals by providing equine therapy.
Project Requirements & Important Notes
Key Responsibilities:
Volunteer ranch hands will provide support in mucking stalls, providing fresh water, sweeping, moving horses, grooming, and ranch repairs
Required Skills/Experience:
Volunteers should enjoy working with animals, have good attention to detail, ability to take direction, and be reliable
Desired Skills/Experience:
Active or former military or equine, ranch, or farm experience. Building maintenance, tractor, and Gater experience is highly desired
Time Commitment: 4 hours per week. Volunteers must be willing to commit to serving in an ongoing capacity
Onboarding Process: Application, telephone interview, orientation, and training during volunteer shifts
Physical Requirements: Lifting, bending, and walking on uneven ground. This project is able to make accommodations for individuals with physical limitations by adjusting volunteer duties. The space where this project takes place is wheelchair accessible
Attire: Sunscreen, sturdy boots, pants, gloves, hat, and durable shirt
