Looking for participants in brain imaging study

The Georgetown Brain and Language Lab is looking for participants for a brain imaging study that investigates LANGUAGE ACROSS THE LIFESPAN, focusing on the question of where in the brain word-finding difficulties come from.

Participation in the study is compensated at a rate of $25/hr for time spent inside the MRI scanner, and $10/hr for time spent in our lab.


WHAT happens?

  • 3 sessions, each 1.5–2.5 hours, scheduled at your convenience (some sessions can be scheduled on the weekend if preferred)
  • You perform a series of computer-based tasks in the lab, plus a 30-minute MRI scan. 


WHO can participate?

  • Age: 25-99 years old
  • Right-handed
  • Native speaker of US English, and not fluent in another language
  • No history of neurological, learning, or psychiatric disorders, no neural injury or concussions


WHERE does this take place?

  • Georgetown University Medical Campus (free parking available)


We take extensive precautions against COVID. All our experimenters have been vaccinated and will be wearing masks during the entire session.
