#MLK Day of Service Court Watch Training

Interested in Criminal Justice Reform and Prison Abolition? Become a volunteer with the Abolitionist Law Center's Court Watch Program and help hold the Allegheny Court System accountable! As a Court Watcher, you'll show up to court (either downtown, at your local magistrate court, or remotely) and take notes on what you observe--no background in law or criminal justice necessary! After completing your court watching shift, you'll submit your notes to us via Google Forms. Just complete a one-hour virtual training with us and we'll send you information on court proceedings you can observe which match your schedule. When you volunteer with us, you'll be joining a growing coalition of orgs dedicated to abolition and restorative justice. Beyond just showing up to court, you'll have the chance to actively strategize with us to demand racial and economic justice in Allegheny County!

For this #MLK Day of Service, we're holding three trainings at 10am, 2pm, and 6pm EST. Sign up for a training here (https://www.mobilize.us/alccourtwatch/event/435369/) and reach out to our volunteer coordinator at admin@alccourtwatch.org with any questions you might have. Injustice Happens in Empty Courtrooms--Help Us Pack the Courts!
