Help Build the Future of Human-Centered Health Literacy

    Human Health Project (HHP)

    Human Health Project

    About Human Health Project (HHP)

The Human Health Project is a global nonprofit network working to transform how people understand, navigate, and experience healthcare.

    We believe that:

    • Better health outcomes require more than medical treatment alone
    • Patients and families need understandable, culturally relevant guidance
    • Peer experience and community wisdom are powerful forms of health support
    • Prevention, navigation, education, and human connection should exist alongside clinical care
    • Healthcare systems should support the whole person — physically, emotionally, socially, and practically

HHP operates across the United States, Northern Ireland, and Ireland with a growing international volunteer network.

    Our Vision

HHP is building a new model called the:

    Unified Patient Experience (UPE)

The UPE is an AI-enabled health literacy and patient navigation ecosystem designed to help people:

    • better understand their health challenges
    • navigate healthcare systems
    • avoid preventable medical errors
    • access community and peer support
    • improve health literacy
    • receive culturally relevant guidance
    • connect with educational resources and services tailored to their needs

Over time, the UPE will function similarly to a:

    • personalized health literacy platform
    • patient support CRM
    • community-powered navigation system
    • longitudinal learning and guidance ecosystem

Our long-term vision is to help create a world where:

    • healthcare information is understandable
    • prevention is prioritized
    • patients are empowered instead of overwhelmed
    • lived experience becomes part of healthcare intelligence
    • communities help communities achieve better health

    Our Current Programs

    Healthcare Access for All

Multilingual health literacy video programs and workshops focused on:

    • patient rights
    • healthcare navigation
    • insurance literacy
    • preventing medical errors
    • understanding diagnoses and treatment pathways

Programs are being developed in multiple languages including:

    • English
    • Spanish
    • Mandarin
    • Korean

    Shared Patient Information (SPI)

A real-world evidence and patient insight initiative designed to:

    • ethically collect patient experiences
    • identify patterns in causes, triggers, symptoms, treatments, and outcomes
    • generate anonymized population-level insights
    • improve prevention and care understanding

    Community Voices for Prevention

A peer-storytelling initiative helping individuals share their health experiences to support others navigating similar journeys.

In Development — Stop Type 2 Diabetes Before It Starts

HHP is developing a comprehensive prevention-focused program designed to help individuals and communities better understand:

    • early risk factors
    • lifestyle contributors
    • prevention strategies
    • nutrition and movement
    • emotional and behavioral drivers
    • long-term health management

    The program combines:

    • health literacy
    • practical prevention guidance
    • peer support
    • culturally relevant education
    • real-world lifestyle strategies

The initiative is designed to support people before they reach crisis stage, with a strong focus on prevention, empowerment, and sustainable behavior change.

In Research — Children’s Health Literacy & Youth Mental Health

HHP is researching and developing future initiatives focused on helping children, teenagers, parents, caregivers, and schools better navigate:

    • health literacy for young people
    • emotional wellbeing
    • anxiety and stress management
    • digital and social pressures
    • prevention-oriented mental health education
    • resilience and coping skills
    • supportive peer and family environments

Our long-term vision is to create age-appropriate, culturally sensitive educational experiences that help young people build healthier relationships with:

    • their health
    • emotions
    • healthcare systems
    • community support

    Holistic Wellness

HHP believes health is multidimensional and interconnected.

Our broader holistic wellness vision explores how education and support systems can help individuals better understand the relationship between:

    • physical health
    • emotional wellbeing
    • stress
    • sleep
    • nutrition
    • movement
    • social connection
    • purpose and meaning
    • environmental and lifestyle factors

HHP’s approach is not intended to replace medical care, but rather to complement healthcare through:

    • prevention
    • education
    • empowerment
    • navigation
    • community support
    • evidence-informed wellness strategies

We aim to help individuals become more informed, proactive participants in their own health journeys while respecting diverse cultural perspectives and healthcare approaches.

    The Role

Chief Learning Officer (CLO) Founding Volunteer Leadership Position

HHP is seeking an experienced, visionary, and mission-aligned Chief Learning Officer to help shape the future of holistic health literacy and human-centered learning.

    • learning changes lives
    • education must be accessible and emotionally resonant
    • health literacy can prevent suffering

The CLO will help architect a global learning ecosystem that supports:

    • patients
    • caregivers
    • communities
    • volunteers
    • peer advocates
    • future healthcare navigators

    Who You Are

    You likely:

    • believe healthcare should be more human-centered
    • care deeply about prevention and empowerment

    • enjoy building meaningful things from the ground up

    Why This Role Matters

The global healthcare system spends trillions treating illness.

    • navigate
    • prevent
    • manage
    • emotionally process
    • their health journeys.

HHP aims to help change that.

This role will help shape how thousands — and eventually millions — of people learn about and navigate health and healthcare.
