Remote Communications and Social Media Volunteer

Job Description

The Oddball Foundation is looking for volunteers to help with progressive campaigns for our foundation and literary entertainment ventures, (Oddball Magazine, The Oddball Show Podcast, and Oddball Publishing).

The Oddball Foundation, Inc. was founded in 2020 to strengthen Oddball Magazine’s mission to give back to the community, promote diversity and inclusion, of all and to advocate for those who identify with mental health issues. The board is composed of a community of artists, mental health and social justice advocates.

Our goal is to promote and produce a vastly diverse and fine literature magazine, host community events, writing workshops, and fundraisers dedicated to bringing the literary and advocacy communities together, to spread awareness and join the fight to end mental health stigma, fight for social justice and to address environmental issues.

  • You are a big thinker and feel that you can make a difference in the world through art, poetry, and speaking your mind
  • You feel that Mental Health, Social Justice, and maintaining a clean environment including oceans and parks, are passions of yours
  • You love to interact with people and get involved, with a no-fear attitude of approaching/reaching out to people (ie. guests for the Oddball Show, organizations, news, etc.)
  • You like scheduling podcast guests, following up with them, from start to finish
  • You are creative, you have a fast mind, and love to take on projects
  • You love to work with a team, or also can work by yourself as well as handle deadlines
  • You can accept feedback, and brainstorm to find the big picture
  • You know computers, you like watching stats, and know how to use Facebook Business Manager, Instagram, WordPress, etc.
  • You like to use your creativity for promotion for managing Social Media and engaging with our community
  • You are comfortable with Canva, or Photoshop, and Adobe Suite
  • You are ready to take on a volunteer position with the Oddball Foundation!

If you want to be a part of something incredibly inspiring, new, odd, innovative and awesome then please reach out to us. As we all are volunteers looking to create and establish our mark in the Nonprofit, literary, and advocacy world, this is an unpaid volunteer position. However, this is a great chance for you to grow with our team, and be a part of making a difference, advocate and grow with the best damn literary magazine, podcast, and people on the planet.

Hours are flexible, though if you are picked to be our social media and communications volunteer, we would like you to be able to keep up with our daily schedule of posts, and post once a day on IG or Facebook, as well as a weekly Newsletter at the end of the week.

*We look forward to speaking with you!
