STRIVE4You is actively recruiting an individual to serve as a team member, Secretary, on our Board of Directors to propel our Mission. At STRIVE4You, our mission is to empower all individuals through training and recreation while educating professionals to better serve their clients.


We are seeking strong outgoing individuals from diverse backgrounds to lead our organization. We can train those willing to learn, but passion, motivation, and determination to succeed are core values you must bring to the table. The purpose of a Secretary of the board is to serve as an active voting Member of the legally constituted Board of Directors which has authority and responsibility for the development of policies and continuing review of the conduct of the business of Strive For You.



Term

Secretaries will be elected to a term in accordance with the bylaws of Strive For You.



Responsibilities

§ Is a voting Member of the Board of Directors

§ Meets the criteria and agrees to the responsibilities outlined in the general Board Member description.

§ Maintains records of the Board and ensures effective management of the organization's records

§ Collaborates with the Board President to develop the agenda

§ Emails agenda to the Board Members at least 2 days prior to the Board meeting

§ Ensures agendas are on official letterhead and free of spelling and grammatical errors

§ Dictates and manages minutes of Board meetings

§ Emails draft minutes to the Board no later than one week following the meeting date.

§ Is sufficiently familiar with legal documents including, articles of incorporation, and bylaws, to note applicability during meetings



Time Demands

The Board Secretary should expect to spend 5-7 hours a month on activities of Strive For you in addition to the Board of Directors meetings. A minimum of three meetings will be held a year via teleconference. Hours may fluctuate depending on current task or project.



Strive For You

Board Officer – Treasurer



Purpose

To serve as an active voting Member of the legally constituted Board of Directors which has authority and responsibility for the development of policies and continuing review of the conduct of the business of Strive For You.



Term

Treasurers will be elected to a term in accordance with the bylaws of Strive For You.



Responsibilities

§ Is a voting Member of the Board of Directors

§ Meets the criteria and agrees to the responsibilities outlined in the general Board Member description.

§ Administers fiscal matters of the organization

§ Ensures development and Board of Directors review of financial policies and procedures

§ Oversees the management and reporting of the organization’s finances

§ Is responsible and overseas the timely and accurate submission of all required Federal, State, and Local forms, along with all other Government reporting requirements

§ The Treasurer communicates directly with the position responsible for the day-to-day finances of the organization and assists, when needed, with the budget preparation and introduction of the budget to the Board of Directors

§ Provides annual budget to the Board of Directors for approval

§ Reviews the audit process and answers any questions Board Members have about the report.

§ The Treasurer is familiar with the activities in the organization, understands nonprofit accounting requirements, and is able to convey financial information to the rest of the Board Members
