Sewing New Futures (SNF) is an IRS 501c3 grassroots women’s empowerment non-profit organization supporting women based in three urban villages of New Delhi, India. SNF’s aim is to create sustainable alternatives for women and girls who are victims of human trafficking by providing them with:

  • Fair-wage employment at a social enterprise that breathes new life into upcycled fabrics and saris. Women join the SNF training and capacity building program to gain experience and earn income that can be saved and used as protection from forced marriage and sex trafficking.
  • An education and tutoring program that engages over 60 children in afterschool activities, tutoring, and assists with the re-enrollment of children who drop out from school.
  • Community outreach programs that include HIV prevention, prenatal care, advocacy and legal assistance, psychological and medical support, and self-help groups over 200 women are involved in these groups.

The volunteer will work remotely with a team from both India and the USA on programing and development strategy. Seeking volunteers that are self starters and motivated to gain experience in the Development sector.
