    Description

    Come join our emergency department volunteers! Volunteers work with medical staff to support patients. Volunteers have an interest in health care and are exposed to many aspects of the hospital. A typical day may include stocking IV and isolation carts, checking on patients and helping with other work as needed. Volunteers may also be asked to escort visitors and families to other hospital areas!

    Please note, all volunteers must complete a screening process prior to joining the team which includes:

    • Placement Interview and Orientation
    • Volunteer Handbook Review
    • State of Iowa Background check
    • National Background check (if applicable)
    • Health Screening
      • Covid and Flu Vaccination Required
      • Tuberculosis (TB) Test
    • Adults commit to a minimum of 6 months
    • Undergrad/Graduate students commit to a minimum of 2 semesters

    2 shifts available:

    • 11:00 to 15:00 CST
    • 15:00 to 19:00 CST
