Tutor for Refugee Girls

GirlForward is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers for our Tutoring Program. We are a nonprofit dedicated to building community with girls who have been displaced globally by conflict and persecution. The GirlForward community represents over 30 countries of origin and many more languages and identities.

We serve girls through academic tutoring and social support in Chicago, IL and Austin, TX. As a tutor, you will help participants work on their homework and navigate other tasks like applying to jobs, filling out the FAFSA, or just spending a bit of time socializing! Our program serves girls in high school and college as they navigate a new community and education system. Tutors make a volunteer for 2 hours either online or in person at our Edgewater Program Center in Chicago, IL and make a semester long committment.

If you love working with young people, are excited to help with homework, and can make a regular, consistent committment. This is the community for you!
