Social Worker Needed for On-Call Support for Aging Black Women's Group

We are a non-profit organization that offers cultural and social activities by phone primarily for Black women in their 60s-80s who cope with the consequences of social isolation and loneliness. Our mission is to replace social isolation with community. We are looking for a volunteer social worker we can call on for support and advice when problems arise.

Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Be available to provide advice and guidance on mental health issues, intractable family problems, and problems with housing and food security when needed
• 
  
• Connect members with resources and services in Brooklyn, NY
• 
  
• Assist in developing and implementing programs and activities that promote mental and emotional wellness as needed
• 
  

Requirements:

• 
  
• Licensed social worker with experience working with aging populations and/or Black communities
• 
  
• Familiarity with resources and services available for seniors and Black communities in New York
•
