BARN HELP

Volunteers are an essential part of our team and help us in a multitude of ways. We appreciate everyone who gives us the gift of their time. Whatever you choose to do as a volunteer, you will make a difference!

If you would like to make a change and at the same time be surrounded by animals and beautiful views and have some outdoor workouts, you will love volunteering with us!

Responsibilities

• Mucking (cleaning pens)
• Cleaning and filling water troughs
• Filling hay bags
• Sweeping
• Helping with small projects as needed

Requirements

• Ability to lift at least 40 lbs.
• Arrive in proper attire, including work gloves and boots
• Must be comfortable with physical labor 
• Courteous and willing to address the most pressing needs

Onboarding Process

• Submit the volunteer application HERE
• Attend orientation
• Once you complete five volunteer shifts, our Barn Manager can decide to give you a clearance to go on to be a volunteer lead, assisting with moving animals or handling horses during our group therapy if it is something you would like to do! 

We appreciate our volunteers. Our mission is to empower them and allow growth to gain new skills both within and outside of Medicine Horse. We also strive to create a supportive and fun community! We invite our volunteers quarterly for Volunteer Appreciation Day. Additionally, we choose an individual to be our Volunteer of the Month, give out annual awards, and hold an annual volunteer appreciation party.
