Help the Students Impacted Most by School Closures

It's online education this Fall. Historically under-served students will be hit twice as hard as other students due to the inequities that are even more pronounced when schools are closed. What happens to

  • Special Ed Students
  • English Language Learners
  • Foster Youth

How about

  • Students who don't have a quiet place to study
  • Students whose parents are at work during the day
  • Students whose parents aren't able to help them with homework or technology
  • Students experiencing homelessness or housing instability

Various city departments and non-profits are creating Learning Hubs for the most under-resourced students in San Francisco; a place to go to receive in-person instruction and homework help during school closures.

If you would like to assist teachers or provide one-on-one tutoring help at one of the City's new Learning Hubs please contact us: www.sfedfund.org/volunteer. This is an amazing opportunity to address the inequities in education that are even more pronounced in online instruction.
