Help caregivers impacted by dementia find strength, support, and connection.
ROLE OVERVIEW
Support Group Facilitators create a safe, welcoming space for caregivers or individuals living with early-stage dementia to share their feelings, experiences, and coping strategies. These groups offer emotional and social support, education, and the reassurance that no one is alone on this journey.
KEY ACTIVITIES
⢠Facilitate monthly support group meetings with empathy and care
⢠Share Association-approved materials to support and inform group members
⢠Connect participants to Alzheimerās Association programs and the 24/7 Helpline
⢠Encourage peer-to-peer support in a respectful, inclusive environment
QUALIFICATIONS
ā Strong listening & communication skills
ā Ability to separate personal needs from group needs
ā Comfortable guiding conversations with compassion
ā Passion for the Alzheimerās Associationās mission (personal/professional experience a plus)
COMMITMENT
šļø Minimum 1-year term facilitating a monthly group
š Participate in training, onboarding, and continued learning
š Opportunity to renew annually after goal-setting with staff

All facilitators receive online training, self-study tools, and mentoring support. Materials are available in multiple languages, and you'll never be alone in your role, weāre with you every step of the way.
