Meet one-on-one with a refugee as they build toward self-sufficiency. You may help practice English, navigate city life, or prep for the citizenship exam, and simply act as a supportive advocate and friend. Schedule flexible arranged according to mentee availability.

Time Commitment: Must commit 1 hour weekly for 6 months.

Location: Remote meetings via zoom and an occasionally in-person meeting in Chicago Northside once COVID 19 restrictions are lifted.

Experience: Background in teaching ESL or working with English language learners, flexible; respect for individuals from a variety of ethnicities, cultures, and backgrounds.

Requirement: Attend an online orientation, complete volunteer paperwork and complete a background check ($10)
