Program Support

Minds Matter DC connects driven and determined students with the people, preparation and possibilities to succeed in college, create their future and change the world. Minds Matter DC is seeking a reliable and energetic volunteer to assist with in-person logistics during our Saturday program sessions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being helpful behind the scenes and wants to make a difference by ensuring a smooth and welcoming environment for students, mentors, and guests.

Reports To: Executive Director

Purpose: To assist with weekly program logistics.

Responsibilities include:

• Unlocking doors and preparing the space for session
• Ensure accurate attendance records
• Assist with setup of tables, chairs, supplies, distributing materials and other tasks as needed
• Take inventory of supplies and notify the team of any restocking needs
• Help with cleanup and closing procedures at the end of session
• Take photos of sessions, special moments, and activities for internal use and social media (no editing or posting required)

Time Commitment:

• Saturdays from 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM (September through May)

Ideal Candidate:

• Must be organized, dependable, and comfortable with light physical tasks (e.g., setting up chairs, bins, moving supplies, etc. )
• Friendly and approachable, with a can-do attitude
• Experience with photography or content capture (preferred but not required)
• Solution oriented
• Strong attention to detail
• Interested in supporting youth, education, or nonprofit work
