NAMI Southeast Wisconsin, part of the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization, is seeking young adult presenters for our NAMI Ending the Silence program. Ending the Silence is a 50-minute presentation given to Milwaukee and Waukesha-area middle and high school-aged youth, typically during the mental health portion of their health class curriculum. Through an informative PowerPoint, short videos and personal stories, Ending the Silence allows youth to hear about mental health from people who have experienced mental health concerns, learn about early indicators of mental health concerns, and are given ideas about how to help anyone in their life who may be in need of support.

If you are:

  • Living in recovery with a mental health condition and a willingness to share your personal journey
  • 18-35 years old
  • Passionate about storytelling and mental health advocacy
  • Are available some weekdays during school hours
  • Comfortable/have experience with public speaking when training is provided

Click the following link to complete a volunteer application: https://namisoutheastwi.org/get-involved/volunteer/. Please mention your interest in being a presenter in your application.

Please contact Ren Gresbach at 414-326-3453 or rgresbach@namisoutheastwi.org with any additional questions.
