Unexpected NC's mission is to improve the welfare of children by offering support and guidance to young, first-time mothers in raising their child by overcoming financial hardship and providing a support system. We are looking for someone to work within our organization to run and expand the Programming efforts of our organization. This person should be ready to collaborate with a very passionate team. Regardless the reason, if our mission speaks to you and you are interested in volunteering your time to help us in our day-to-day activities then we want to hear from you!

 Ensure effective systems to tracking scaling progress, and regularly evaluate program components, so as to measure successes to the board, funders and other constituents.

 Works with the team to promote fundraising events using flyers, advertisements, and outreach.

 Assist in writing program descriptions and impact in grant proposals – better yet, include your proposed salary into a grant (or a portion to each grant) and this role will transition to a paid position so long as the budget can allow.

This is an on-going volunteer position. The hours will vary based on workload, but we will work around your schedule and availability. While this position is currently unpaid, we have high hopes for it to be a paid position once our budget can support it. Until this position is paid, we can discuss services being donated as an in-kind donation to the organization (tax write-off).

 Passion for helping others

 Ability to work well with a team and promote organization initiatives

 Proficiency with Google Drive and/or O365 OneDrive

 Top-notch written and verbal communication skills

 Impeccable time management skills with the ability to multitask

 Detail-oriented approach with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines

If you are interested in this ongoing volunteer position, please send your resume to morgan@unexpectednc.org with your name and “Program Manager” in the subject line, along with a brief summary as to why you’re interested in volunteering with Unexpected NC.
