Mothers United and Empowered, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) organization. Our mission is to empower first-time expectant mothers facing homelessness to overcome their circumstances and thrive as parents. Our vision includes establishing a welcoming physical location accommodating 15 women and their babies. We don't have a physical location; however, we are collaborating with community organizations to provide support services to the community. Services will include free workshops on various topics, referrals, biopsychosocial, and trauma-based therapy. As we prepare to launch our services, we are seeking volunteers to assist us. We are asking for a commitment of up to 5 hours per month.
We need volunteers to conduct research, outreach, identify potential donors, send letters, and follow up. We meet monthly as a team to update each other on our activities. We seek committed volunteers from a variety of backgrounds. We need technologically savvy volunteers to help with maintaining our website, Facebook page, creating an Instagram account, and posting content. You will join a team headed by one of our board of directors from diverse professional backgrounds. If you would like to be part of a team whose values are grounded in compassion, empowerment, community, and inclusivity, don't hesitate to contact us!
