Development Director

Overview:

Education for Global Peace (EGP) is a voluntary organization that seeks to bring about a world based on cultures of peace. Our mission is to foster a global transformation whereby peace education empowers children, youth, and adults in a variety of educational settings, so that they possess the knowledge, skills and attitudes to build peace in the world around them.

We are transitioning into a non-profit and looking for someone to contribute to develop a fundraising plan that allows us to grow as an organization. You will work closely with the board of directors and be part of developing EGP.

This is a remote part time voluntary position. 

Responsibilities:

• Oversees fundraising planning and implementation, including identifying resource requirements, researching funding sources, establishing strategies to approach funders, submitting proposals and administrating fundraising records and documentation.
• Write letters, proposals, grant reports and correspondence to funders, including government agencies, foundations, corporations and individual giving.
• Build and solidify relationships with new and established contributors 
• Plan special events and develop public relations strategy as it relates to fundraising.
• Engage board of directors in activities to ensure achievement of fundraising goals. 

Qualifications:

• Passion and commitment for EGP’s mission.
• Experience in fundraising. 
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
• Excellent knowledge of English (oral and written). 
• Excellent computer and Internet skills.
