Become an "everyday hero" for children. CASA volunteers are appointed by Children's Court judges to be voices for children in foster care. CASA volunteers meet with the child and his/her family, caregivers, mentor, teachers, therapist, social workers, attorneys and others involved in the child's life to monitor the child's needs. CASA volunteers report their concerns to the judge, and advocate for the best interests of the child to ensure the child has a safe, nurturing, permanent home.
Our next training will begin on April 14, 2020. The training sessions are held virtually, and volunteers must complete all training sessions. Once training has been completed the volunteer has very flexible hours.

As we all know, there are so many considerations in assessing whether in-person visits are right at this time. It depends on the volunteer's health, whether their youth or their caregiver is in a high-risk group and other factors. Our guiding principles are to be mindful and have open communication.
The following protocols have been developed in consultation with DCF Child Welfare and CDC guidelines.
In-Person, Physically Distant Visit Requirements:
If volunteers are not comfortable with in-person visits, virtual visits are still okay!
