PET THERAPY Hospice Patient Companionship Volunteer- Riverview

The Medical Team Hospice is seeking friendly and compassionate individuals along with their certified pet therapy animal to provide companionship and interaction with our patients who reside in assisted living residence/buildings. Our volunteers are indispensable key members of the Hospice care team. They share their time, talents and interests by providing comfort and support to our patients and their families during the critical time. The Medical Team Hospice provides comprehensive training and orientation to support you in the challenges of working with Hospice patients. If you can give at least 5 hours A MONTH, please join our team!!

The role of a pet therapy volunteer would be to spend quality time with our patients engaging them in conversation and/or activities. Volunteers do not attend to personal care of patients so no skills in this area is needed.
