Surfrider Foundation Vancouver is seeking a highly organized and proactive Development Director volunteer to join its executive committee team.

If  you  are  passionate  about  protecting  Vancouver’s  coastlines,  we  want  to  hear  from  you!  We   are the Vancouver Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation, a global environmental non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of oceans, waves and beaches, for all people, which is enacted through a powerful activist network

The Development Director position is a vital part of our chapter’s leadership. As Development Director, you will be responsible for managing the Development Team.

Development Team

Connects chapter to members and partners and secures funding for chapter operations and campaigns. The team eam is responsible for managing and promoting Surfrider memberships; establishing new partnerships and developing long-term relationships with existing partners; organizing chapter funding, including grants and fundraisers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Member of Executive Committee participating in overall chapter management
  • Managing the Development Team, which consists of the memberships and partnerships leads
  • Coordinating work of all team members
  • Coordinating Development team work with other Surfrider Vancouver teams
  • Communicating and engaging with partners and sponsors
  • Creating and updating team member role descriptions
  • Recruiting and training team members
  • Organizing and documenting team meetings as required 
  • Managing partner agreements
  • Managing donors database
  • Attending chapter executive meetings (one per month)
  • Attending chapter events (one per month)
