ESL or Citizenship Tutor

Fluent in English? Looking for cross-cultural volunteer experience? This one's for you!

No previous experience or second-language skills required. We're looking for adult volunteers who are fluent in English and want to share some time and talent with our clients. Free training and on-going support are provided to all tutors.

St. James Immigrant Assistance helps refugees and immigrants to learn English, become citizens and connect to community resources. Current services include ESL Tutoring, Citizenship Preparation, Naturalization Assistance, and Elder Integration. If you care about making a difference in the lives of refugees and immigrants consider joining us!

ESL Tutors are trained and make a 1-year commitment to provide 1-1 tutoring to their assigned client, once or twice per week for 1-2 hours. All tutoring is currently done remotely. Schedules are flexible. Contact us now to schedule an interview and to get into the next training in January.
