Mentoring for Youth with Disabilities

Become a Mentor today with Partners for Youth with Disabilities!

Many of our youth are waiting to be matched with a mentor, and with just a few hours a month, you can have a great impact in a young person’s life.

Our mentors receive training, ongoing support, and ideas for match activities.

Mentors meet with their mentee once a month in person (matches are expected to follow public health guidelines, and thus, the in-person requirement is waived temporarily; matches engage in virtual activities instead) for at least one year and communicate with their mentee via phone or email once a week.

All mentors must be 18 or older, willing to travel within the Mass 128 belt, and complete an interview, training and CORI/SORI/SafetyNet background check. The presence of a CORI conviction does not automatically prohibit a volunteer from becoming a mentor. In these special cases, the Mentor Match Team makes decisions regarding eligibility on a case-by-case basis.

Mentoring works. Make it happen.
