VOLUNTEER PROGRAM MANAGER- TECHNICAL SKILL TRAINING

Here at Adei Foundation, Inc. and the Adei Institute of Technology we are in search of a

dynamic Program Manager for our Technical Skill Training Program. We are developing a

pipeline of talent capable of taking advantage of the global digital economy and leveraging

opportunities in their communities and beyond.

A little about us: Adei Foundation was formed in 2017 as a way to promote technology and

entrepreneurship in Côte d’Ivoire, West Africa. We are still in the early stage.

Our mission is to drive socio-economic development in Côte d’Ivoire through technology by

fostering opportunities for entrepreneurs, talent and innovation; while applying a gender lens.

Our vision: Adei Institute establishes a world-class entrepreneurship hub in the West and

Francophone Africa region, committed to connecting founders, technologists, and investors

with global disruptive innovation.


DESCRIPTION

Adei Foundation is looking for a volunteer program manager who will oversee our technical skill

training program at Adei Technology.  As the program manager, you will be responsible with

developing top-notch talents and basic skills training for the community with a focus on women

to support the organization's strategic direction, as well as creating and managing long term

goals. You will also be in charge of developing budgets and operating plans for programs and

writing program funding proposals. The ideal candidate will need to have prior experience in

technical skill training and program management.


Our Technical Skills Training Program has three branches:


For the Community: Adei Educate - Digital Transformation (2020) applied technologies

presentation series to a community of entrepreneurs plus practical training to promote

technology adoption to improve productivity

 

For Educators and Students:  Adei Educate - Applied Digital Skills (2020) train-the-trainer

program in basic computer skills plus intro to programming in collaboration with high school.

 

For Tech Professionals and Graduates: Adei Elevate - Beyond Coding (2018) software

development training for early career professionals.


RESPONSIBILITIES

The Technical Skills Program Manager’s responsibilities include, but not limited to:

● Organizing programs and activities in accordance with Adei Technology’s objectives.

● Ensuring that the program has clear and accurate goals and that they are met.

● Working with other program managers to analyze program risks.

● Working on strategy with the marketing team.

● Managing a diverse array of talent and skills.

● Evaluating programs to assess strengths and identify areas that need improvement.

● Overseeing multiple project teams.

● Managing budget and funding channels for maximum productivity.

● Conducting computer training needs assessment by collecting information

pertaining to work procedures, workflow, and reports; understanding job-specific

functions and tasks.

● Determining system utilization requirements by researching and testing systems.

● Designing computer training manuals by identifying and describing information

needs; using desktop publishing; submitting initial versions for review; revising and

editing final copy.

● Maintaining a safe and healthy training environment by following Adei

Technology’s standards and legal regulations.

● Ensuring operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance

requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions;

calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment

and techniques.

● Maintaining quality service by establishing and enforcing standards set by Adei

Technology.

● Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.


REQUIREMENTS

● Must possess expertise in technical skills

● Proven experience in technical skill training

● Proven experience in program management or similar field of expertise

● Excellent communication and organization skills

● Ability to manage and work with a team

● Must be able to commit for at least 6 months for this position

● Has great understanding of program management

● Proficient in computer applications like GSuite, Microsoft Office, etc.

● Has excellent training management, presentation and technical leadership skills

● Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in a related field preferred.
