National Food Pantry and Kitchen Data Verification

Volunteers will be helping HFA in data verification for our National Database of Pantries and Kitchens. This database is one of the core national projects of HFA, which is one of the most comprehensive collection of food resources in the country. The ultimate goal of this database is to substantially increase visibility and accessibility of SNAP and WIC offices, food pantries, and soup kitchens to those who need them.

Key Responsibilities: Volunteer responsibilities would include verifying and ensuring that all data is accurate in order to launch a comprehensive collection of sites’ information. Verification can be done by confirming listed hours of operation either on the pantry website or over the phone. The volunteer will then create a listing of verified sites. 

Qualifications: Comfortable in conducting online search and talking on the phone. 

Time Commitment/Project Length: The volunteer must be available any day between December 2^nd-December 18^th. Flexible shift timing between the hours of 10am-5pm, Monday thru Friday.  

Training/Support Provided: Volunteers will receive the support of HFA to provide guidance and training on the data and gathering process. A supervisor will be available to provide any assistance necessary.
