Grant Writing and Fundraising Officer

Volunteer Action Network is seeking fundraising and grant writing volunteers or interns to help us diversify our funding sources through a variety of methods. You will receive support and training from our Program Director or from the coordinator. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience fundraising for a Nonprofit Organization that is empowering women and girls through business skills training, microloans, leadership and advocacy in Uganda.

Main Responsibilities:

• To plan and organize fundraising events both online and local events

• Researching and applying for grants

• To help us find private and business donors

Requirements:

• Volunteers must work at least 10 hours per week

• Experience English

• Minimum 3-month time commitment although 6 months and above is better

• Knowledge and experience with fundraising, grant writing, and event organizing is highly desirable

Our mission is to empower underserved women in Uganda through socio-economic, health education, and leadership programs, creating opportunities while strengthening families and communities. While volunteering or interning with us we offer ongoing support and supervision and can help organize taxi pickups, local accommodations, and even cultural classes. All volunteers and interns will also receive our Pre-Departure Powerpoint, invitations, and Introduction during their internship at the NGO.
