    Description

Retired and senior volunteers urgently needed to mentor unhoused children!

Are you passionate about education and want to serve as a role model? Join a community of compassionate individuals dedicated to making a difference in the lives of students residing in homeless shelters, motels, group foster homes, and vehicles throughout Southern California. Children experiencing homelessness need extra time and attention to succeed in school. We train and match our volunteers with students in their community, who then meet weekly to focus on learning. You can specify to work one-on-one with an elementary, middle, or high school student in person or meet your student virtually!

Change a life by applying at https://schoolonwheels.org/apply-to-be-a-volunteer/

Volunteers are asked to commit a minimum of 1 hour a week for up to a year. Tutoring usually happens on weekdays between 3pm-7pm. No prior experience is needed. Training is provided.
