This opportunity allows for a valuable one-on-one mentorship relationship between you and a K-8th-grade student! Students may be behind in school and are able to receive extra spiritual, academic, and social-emotional support through mentoring. You will get to choose one day per week (between Monday and Thursday) to mentor a child from 5:00pm to 6:00pm.
As a mentor, you are able to help a student with their schoolwork for the day and aid in academic growth through activities such as reading and flash cards. Volunteers are also able to be involved in prayer for the students, relationship-building, Gospel conversation, behavior-modeling, testimony-sharing, play-time (when time allots), and sometimes events and parties!
FHL volunteers, staff, parents, and students are a family and have fun giving love and support to one another and to the children. We would love to welcome you to the family!
