Our goal is to empower vulnerable youth & communities to overcome challenges and begin their journey toward restoration and success. At Restoring.Our.Youth.Organization, we believe in equal opportunity and inclusive growth. Our volunteers are expected to dedicate a minimum of 8 to 10 hours a week. Every role here matters and every team member helps us move closer to a world where every person feels seen, supported, and capable of success. This includes our youth.

Restoring Our Youth Organization (R.O.Y.O.) is seeking a mission-driven, detail-oriented CFO/Treasure to serve as a trusted steward of the organization’s financial health. This role is ideal for a finance professional who is passionate about community impact and wants to apply their expertise to support youth, families, and long-term organizational sustainability.

    About the Role

As Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, you will serve as a strategic player–coach, leading financial strategy while building and scaling R.O.Y.O.’s finance function from the ground up. This role combines hands on execution with leadership, including guiding a small team of volunteers and establishing the systems, structure, and discipline needed for long-term sustainability.

You will partner closely with leadership and the Board to turn financial data into clear insights, strengthen decision-making, and ensure every dollar drives meaningful impact.

    What You’ll Do

    • Lead financial strategy, budgeting, and forecasting while staying close to execution
    • Build and develop the finance function from the ground up, including mentoring and coordinating volunteer support
    • Oversee financial operations (cash flow, reporting, controls) and implement scalable processes
    • Ensure compliance, strong internal controls, and responsible fund stewardship
    • Provide clear, actionable financial insights to leadership and the Board
    • Support audits, filings (e.g., Form 990), and long-term sustainability planning

    What You Bring

    • Experience in finance, accounting, or nonprofit financial leadership
    • Ability to operate as a player–coach (strategic + hands-on)
    • Experience building or improving financial processes, systems, or teams
    • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to simplify complex data
    • High integrity, sound judgment, and strong communication skills
    • Alignment with R.O.Y.O.’s mission and values
