    Typically we ask that volunteers commit to a minimum of 3-4 hours monthly; this can be weekly or 2-3 times a month. As a volunteer, you can schedule yourself as you wish.

    Description

    Volunteering Purpose:

    • Volunteering with Optage Meals office is a great opportunity to assist in the process of being able to deliver healthy, nutritious meals to the homes of seniors and adults with disabilities throughout the Twin Cities Metro area.

    Benefit to Clients:

    • Receive healthy nutritious meals
    • Continued and/or increased ability to be healthy, independent, and remain in own home
    • Receive additional individualized attention with conversations/check in’s

    Essential Duties:

    • Organize menus, assemble routes
    • Check voicemails
    • Call Title III clients to conduct NAPIS reassessment for program renewal
    • Report to Office Staff or Volunteer Coordinator any client concerns
    • Maintain respectful relationship with clients, staff and volunteers
    • Maintain confidentiality of client records and personal information
    • Other duties as assigned
    • Contact Volunteer Coordinator in a timely manner if have unexpected changes to volunteer schedule
    • Provide own transportation

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Outgoing, caring cheerful attitude
    • High attention to detail and organized
    • Comfortable asking questions and engaging in conversation
    • Enjoy working with a diverse population and helping people
    • Ability to provide positive customer service
    • Reliable
    • Must be a team player, able to communicate in a timely manner any questions or concerns
    • Must pass a background check
    • Complete online training modules

    Time Commitment/Hours:

    • 2 or more hours a week
    • 2 or more hours every other week
    • 2 or more hours one time per month
