We are growing our team and seeking a Marketing, PR, and Communications volunteer. Volunteers are the backbone of our organization and the heart of our mission. If you are looking to join a maternal health nonprofit, and have the qualifications, we would love to hear from you. 

Summary:

The Marketing, PR, and Communications Coordinator Volunteer will play a vital role in building awareness of Push and its services. As a new nonprofit, establishing visibility is paramount to our purpose. In order for Push to be successful in our mission, we must be visible in the communities we serve. This visibility reaches individuals and families we hope to assist in addition to those we hope will help support our mission. The Marketing, PR, and Communications Coordinator Volunteer will help Push inform communities of its presence through various strategies, channels, and platforms.

Our volunteer program requires a one-year commitment. However, flexibility will be granted for the right applicant who is seeking a seasonal internship and/or internship for college credit.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain consistency with code of ethics/conduct, policies, and procedures
  • Exemplify company's core values
  • Develop, implement, & oversee a marketing, publicity, & social media strategy to increase overall awareness of Push’s mission & activities
  • Develop advertising materials and prepare articles for newsletters and digital media as needed
  • Write and edit press releases
  • Write and edit articles for newsletters
  • Work with Executive Director and Marketing and Communications Task Force to plan projects and events needs
  • Develop, review, and communicate information to various stakeholders
  • Maintain a respectful relationship with clients, staff, and other volunteers
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education:

Minimum:

  • Enrolled at least part-time at an accredited university.
  • Experience in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or similar field.
  • High degree of professionalism.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and possesses high level of personal integrity.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Desire to support Push’s mission.
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality of Push volunteers, partners, beneficiaries, donors, and other
  • stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and experience using marketing platforms including Canva, Mailchimp, etc.

Working Conditions:

This is a remote position, professionals work outside of a traditional office environment, but will interface (in-person, phone, or videoconference) with staff, volunteers, and clients as needed to meet goals and organizational objectives. Volunteers must have access to a personal computer.
